Congrats to Our Own Lyn Lemke For Getting Nominated as a YWCA Women of Excellence Honoree

The YWCA of Northeast Kansas held its 34th Annual Women of Excellence Awards and Gala Honors this past weekend. We are excited to announce that Polo Custom Product’s own Lyn Lemke was nominated as an honoree! 

While she didn’t win, we are proud she was nominated for such a prestigious award. Lyn says, “It was truly an honor to be nominated and incredibly humbling to be included in this amazing group of women, including Captain Jana Harden of Topeka Police Department, Judge Nancy Parrish, and so many others. It is very inspiring; it makes me want to do so much more!!!

Before the Excellence Awards and Gala Honors, Lyn was interviewed by the TK Business Magazine. During the interview, Lyn explained how her work at Polo Custom Products inspires her because she can make a positive difference in people’s lives for both their physical health and leisure time. 

Lyn also discusses the best advice she has ever been given and her advice for others. She believes it is important to focus on progress over perfection. Also, be kind to yourself and give yourself grace. “Too often we are our own worst critic, and while it may seem to improve results short-term but for the long-term, it can be counterproductive.”

What the YWCA Mission Means to Lyn

The mission of the YWCA is to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Lyn states, “The YWCA mission statement speaks to me in such a positive and significant way, we need to support one another, regardless of gender, race or political affiliation, there should be equality for ALL people. I am so thankful for the YWCA and all that it promotes and gives back to our community. With organizations such as the YWCA, our ability to improve the lives in our community and beyond become so much more of a reality.”
