Polo Supports Kansas Foster Children with Donation of 54 Large Bags

Topeka, KS – Polo Custom Products is pleased to announce its donation of 54 heavy-duty bags to KVC Kansas, a private, nonprofit child welfare agency. These bags will be used to support children in need who may not have other means of storing and transporting their belongings.

The donation initiative was spearheaded by Jennifer Fennell, Polo Custom Products’ Supply Chain and Process Improvement Advisor, who has been actively involved in helping foster children for many years. Fennell’s dedication to making a difference was inspired by her close friend, a social worker with KVC, who highlighted the challenges faced by foster children when moving their belongings from one home to another.

Jennifer Fennell shared, “Foster kids often have to move their meager belongings from home to home in plastic garbage bags. Any time we purged our sample inventories over the years, I’ve taken whatever I thought a child could use to Tonya at KVC. However, it’s been a sporadic activity. These bags create an opportunity that the children in our area will benefit from!”

The 54 large bags, made of high-quality weather resistant nylon & vinyl with a commercial value of $140 apiece, were excess inventory for Polo and scheduled to be disposed of at the end of the year. Instead of scrapping the bags, Polo Custom Products decided to donate them to KVC Kansas in hopes to improve the moving process for children in foster care.

The donation took place on Giving Tuesday, November 28, where KVC employees were prepared to receive the delivery from Polo. KVC Adoption Supervisor, Tonya Grauberger, shared her appreciation. “It provides them some dignity, just gives them maybe a little sense of normalcy for when they have to move homes,” Grauberger said. “They don’t have to throw their trash bag over their shoulder to transport their things that way.”
